How To Care For Fine Jewelry

Fine jewelry is an investment meant to last a lifetime, and with the right care, it will remain just as radiant as the day you received it. See my selection of jewelry cleaners below for daily use.

Follow these simple tips to keep your pieces in beautiful condition:

  • Before daily routines: Remove your jewelry before showering, applying lotion, perfume, hairspray, or cosmetics. If you forget use a delicate jewelry cleaner or mild soap such as dawn to remove buildup on your diamonds. Harsh Chemicals can damage certain gemstones.
  • During activities: Skip wearing jewelry at the gym or during strenuous tasks—pressure and impact can cause unnecessary stress or damage. At Bedtime, give your jewelry a rest.
  • For necklaces: Always re-clasp them before setting them aside. Store them in a plastic baggie with the clasp sticking out. This small step saves you from knots and tangles later.
  • Pearls: Treat pearls with extra care. They’re especially delicate and should be kept away from perfumes, lotions, chemicals, abrasives, and solvents to preserve their natural luster. They should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
  • Diamonds: A soft toothbrush and mild dish soap, are all you need to restore their sparkle. Gently scrub, rinse thoroughly, and dry with a lint-free cloth.

Your jewelry is handcrafted , and needs to be checked occasionally. I suggest having your piece professionally cleaned at least once a year through me or a local reputable jewelry store.
